The weirdest bit is having to defocus my brain - no I can't explain it any better than that - in order to do different things with each hand. Surprisingly that's probably the bit that has been hardest to learn. As my housemate pointed out, the weird thing is that I end up looking straight through the pattern, not watching either stick, but keeping them in the periphery of my vision. It always helps if there's a cute girl watching that I can watch back. :-)

I once heard the drummer's version of detaching each limb's actions from the others described as "voluntary four-way schizophrenia" :)

Double-devilsticking very cool, but I notice that you look even more miserable than me when concentrating hard :)

Dude! Cool!!
I thought it was nice to have some photos, rather than just saying I could do it in the office :-)
speaking of pictures, want to e-mail me the shot of me juggling five balls? And yay for the devilsticks :-)

Nice! I'm still trying to knock all the rust out of all my moves, thank god the weather is sunny again!
When are we going to see you at workshops (and conventions, perhaps?) again? There are others than just spitz, you know? :-)
it's not a dislike of spitz, just too many things to do and not enough time...

maybe you could post when workshops and conventions are, here on you lj, it's a lack of knowledge more than anything else that is the reason i don't go...

It's been a while coming. :-) I did some on stage in the Birmingham Circus Convention Renegade yesterday, too!

Don't get any ideas about fire yet... ;-)
Yay!
Indeed. Got to surprise Meg with them!

Was really looking forward to her show at Birmingham, which would have fitted in really well, as most of the acts were object manipulation type things. Only problem was that she left her show staff outside while she went to give a workshop and some local kid (probably) walked off with it. Nowhere to be found. She decided it was better not to go on stage at that point. :-(
Nice one. I expect a demonstration soon. ;)
I'm sure that can be arranged. I guess I'll have to avoid the plasma screen :-)
Don't trouble yourself too much. ;)

Cool to chat to you at BBU, Matt. Cya around. Void
Thanks, I had a look through everyone's photos that you linked from the site! I'm looking forward to seeing the video, now - finally got round to watching last year's last night.

Oh, and the BJC video is downright fantastic - I watched that too. :-)

It was good to chat to you, too! I'll see you at whatever the next convention we go to is. :-)
Hello!
Sorry to bother you but I need your full name and address! Would you mind emailing them to me? Pretty please with sugar on top? Email address; batswing at yahoo dot com.

Oh, and; Update! We haven't heard from you in ages!
No posts for a while... are you having a good summer?
Yes, thanks, I just haven't had anything to say recently! About to go to Ireland next week, and been busy trying to practise in order to get some 2 devilstick tricks down. Been doing some contact, too, to the extent that I now have some nice palm isolations - can't do a great deal else, though! :-/

Now that you're in Hoxton, we should meet up at some point - probably when I get back.
I should be at Spitz fairly regularly this summer, given the proximity, so I assume I'll almost certainly see you there :)
